St Davids Day Celebrations 2012St David is the patron saint of Wales. March the 1st marks a celebration of both St David's life and welsh culture in Wales and around the world.To celebrate St David's many welsh people will attend church services and school celebrations which often involve a choirs. The traditional meal on St David's Day is a soup called Cawl which is made of leeks and other local vegetables. St David is believed to have lived to 100 years old. He travelled widely throughout Wales, the South West of England and Brittany in France where he founded several churches and a monastery in Wales. He eventually went on to become an archbishop.
