Premier League Darts Hit AberdeenPhil 'the Power' Taylor lived up to his name as he powered to an 8-5 victory over Kevin Painter. The Artist couldn't be too surprised to find himself dealing with a defeat though, as Taylor hit him with a nine-dart finish in the 10th round to bring the game back to 5-5, after being 4-1 down at one point. From then on, it was his game and he closed it out comfortably. It marks the 9th time Taylor has hit a 9-dart finish in a televised game, a feat matched only by 13 other players a total of 21 times, excluding Taylor's nine. This whipped up the crowd who, as ever, made their voices heard and had a great time enjoying the darts. Taylor and fellow player Raymond van Barnveld have both said they think that the Premier League could soon become bigger than the world championships, making it the flagship Darts series. This opinion seems to suit the crowds, who continue to turn up and voice their support, week in, week out. Spotted amongst the crowd last night looking for something special were a gaggle of Wally's and Smurf's as the fancy dress trend continues to grow.
